Crafted By Hand is an event where you can find fresh, contemporary, quirky art, craft and design that's being chosen for its quality and outstanding originality. No made-it-from-a-craft-kit assembly jobs, no peach coloured crocheted toilet roll holders.
By Hand Events is run by Josie Beszant and Charlotte Morrison. The events are sponsored by Masham Gallery.
Josie is an artist and owns Masham Gallery, Charlotte is a ceramicist. They have a passion for handmade contemporary art and craft, and really enjoy organising this event. The talented and supportive community of artists and makers is a fabulous one to be part of. They both have extensive experience of organising and promoting successful festivals, exhibitions and events and are part of the community of a large community of creative people in North Yorkshire. Find Josie Beszant's website here and Charlotte Morrison's here.
Crafted By Hand is very well supported by a wonderful cheerful band of volunteers, who help on the day as well as behind the scenes. The event has raised over £3000 for Masham Arts Festival, candlelighters, Karkeri school and the Marie Collins Foundation. Masham is a small market town in the south of Wensleydale - a very creative place with a wealth of galleries, independent artists and craftspeople. It has a strong events programme throughout the year with an established audience of both locals and visitors.
